During the last couple of outings discussions have been held with members of our motorhome group...
How do we sell the plans so low?
Selling direct through the administrator with no dealership mark-up provides a substantial savings through the web. No further income earned for the finance office. The ability to avoid "dealer mark-up".
Why buy now if I have warranty already?
It is much cheaper for you to buy under mfg as new, then it will be to purchase a used plan. The coverage is better, longer, and less inexpensive. You may forget. Our price may go up. Also, the benefits such as towing, meals, lodging, etc... can be utilized immediately whereas the mfg. would not offer these perks.
What reassurance do I have that your policy will still be around when I need it?
Our administrator is insured, and backed by an A+ rated insurer. Our warranty company has no "unpaid" debt and operates under positive cash flow. Long-term, and well established in the industry. Backed by one of the largest life insurance companies in the world.
Do I need to pay a deductible for each component repaired?
Unlimited number of claims can be filed. All claims are paid per occurrence, not per item!
What is "Exclusionary Coverage"?
In this type of coverage EVERYTHING IS COVERED EXCEPT THE ITEMS EXCLUDED. A list of excluded items is provided and should be read carefully. This is the distinction between "named component" coverage and "exclusionary coverage". All "New" and "Supreme" plans are "exclusionary".
How do you compare to Good Sams Plans?
We understand they sell their coverage in 1 year terms. 1 year - unlimited miles As long as you renew, they will keep the rate the same next year, but, this 1 year term really limits them to exposure on coaches or customers who make big claims or who have claims often. This way they never get stuck with a problematic RV for a multi-year commitment. They choose not to re-new any coaches they deem to be problematic, which is when the customer needs the coverage the most. They sell a one year term, and bill monthly, for instance take a $1700 contract which they will bill $145 per month. In 4 months a customer would have gave them less than $600. If the customer has a $2,000 or $3,000 claim, do they think they are going to get their contract re-newed next year? Our coverage's are less expensive and in many cases more comprehensive in nature, and you can always cancel your policy ANYTIME, which makes it pro-rated. You do the math!! It is all about resale value, isn't it? Wasen't it when you bought the coach to begin with? After all, how much resale value is in a one year term on a service contract?
Is it better to deal with my local dealer when buying a protection policy? Will I have the support from an online purchase?
Yes! In fact, the policy support from our ageny is 24/7 - 365, is your dealer? Unbeatable policy support, assistance, and management. The Plan is a contract in which when presented, repair facilities will honor, regardless of the origin of purchase.
Repairs and replacement not due to neglect or abuse, correct? Does covered equipment have to fail completely?
Correct. and yes. This falls under "wear and Tear" which is covered.
When is the best time for me to buy my warranty? I am still under the manufacturer's warranty, so why buy one now?
This question is frequently asked. And probably one of the most important questions in terms of understanding what is best for you. Not best for us, but best for you. In the sense of true consumer advocacy it is important to understand a few things in regards to when the time is right. Bottom line...Immediately. That is the best time. As soon as you have decided on a service plan, it is best for you to get it, and overlap some of your coverage. As the mfg's coverage begin to expire, an aftermarket service plan will kick in. Waiting is not a good option as it will only expose you to possible issues with the deeming of what every warranty plan in the country has called "Pre-Existing Conditions". Let me put it in easy terms. If you wait till your mfg is very close to expiring, and then you buy a warranty, and let's say 2 days later you have a problem needing repair and then in turn file a claim. People will be staring. Or versus having been under a policy for say 60, 90 days or even longer, as opposed to just signing up two days ago, put yourself in the position of the claims adjuster. Would questions be asked? Overlapping coverage is a good thing not a bad, it offers no disadvantage. When looking at terms of 7 years, what is the big deal of overlapping coverage for 6 months, 8 months, or even a year of which still with an underlying mfg warranty? Why take a chance and give ANY warranty company the opportunity for them to determine a pre-esisting condition? Is it reasonable to wonder perhaps the responsibility should have been with the mfg? Extended Service Contracts were designed to be sold at time of purchase, for protection down the road. And not to be "timed", and then stick an administrator with a large repair bill immediately on the onset. An integrable person would have to admit that could be considered "predetorial" by any one's standards. Your time is now. You found us "direct", you have the chance to buy at very low premiums, why wait? Did you get a full mechanical buyers inspection in writing before you made your purchase? Did you just take the word of the seller, dealer, or past service records to determine the current condition? Did you mandate to the seller to have an independant inspection in writing performed? Why not? How do you know then what problems are "existing"? Did you know...87% of rver's don't have their vehicle inspected prior to thier purchase. That is a huge mistake. Is that you? When to buy..... Procrastination and extended service agreements do not go well together. I have been doing this for nearly 20 years. You will not hear this GREAT info from any other agent. Recent, GREAT Common questions asked of a customer:
I do not see the exhaust brake or air dryer listed as covered items. Are they covered? Jake brakes are not covered as they are considered (Exhaust Parts) -------- Also, what is included in the radiator coverage? I believe the radiator in my coach has 4 sections; engine coolant, transmission fluid cooler, hydraulic oil cooler and air intake cooler(also called a charge air cooler or CAC). Are all of these covered? Yes, radiator is all of the below. CAC included. Most of these are mounted together. -------- Under suspension parts it includes compressor lines and bags and "rubberized suspension components." Does that include air bags(my coach has air suspension). Yes. -------- Under electrical, it states that solenoid(singular) and relays are covered. There are a lot of solenoids and relays in a motorhome. Are they all covered? Yes, all relays and solenoids -------- It also lists wiring harness and manually operated switches. Which wiring harness is this referring to and which switches are covered(again there are many, many of these in my coach)? Yes, all wiring harnesses and manually operated switches. If you started listing each of these components you would have to cut down all the trees on earth. Ha Ha. -------- How about the instrument panel guages and wiring? Yes, on the instrument panel gauges and wiring and manually operated switches -------- Is the air operated step cover included? Yes, on the air operated step. We refer to the step as a electic step but cover the entire system whether it is electric, hydraulic or air operated. -------- What about the windshield and windows? Are the windshield and window seals covered under gaskets and seals? No, coverage for windows or windshield gaskets. They are not mechanical parts. -------- My coach has a 1500W Trace inverter/charger and a transfer switch. Are these covered? Yes, All inverters and converters with or without the charger are covered as long as they were dealer installed. -------- What would be covered in a situatoin where a covered component failed and also caused another component to fail? For example, the trans cooler springs a leak allowing coolant to get into the trans fluid thereby ruining the transmission? Yes, coverage on both trans items. It didn't matter which started the problem and these parts are interrelated. -------- Are components that are damaged by power surges, brownouts or lightning strikes covered? No coverage for lightning, power surges or brown outs. The items are not related to the performance of the part -------- Are there maintenance documentation requirements? I do a lot of my own mainenance. What would I have to do to document that? Maintenance is sometimes required when sludge is found. Keep a log and record and receipts of what you do is all.
